Labrador Retriever Training Program

At Westview Kennels, we use a positive approach to training dogs. We want to shape and mold them into happy, well-mannered hunting partners. We stress obedience and "birdiness." In short, we want to shape gun dogs into well-mannered, bird-hunting nuts!

The experience gained in training our own dogs to win seven State Championships and eight National Champion High-Point Dogs of the Year in upland hunting competitions gives us the skills to meet our goals... the full potential of each dog with whom we work.

Our training program for your dog is designed with the same commitment to excellence that we use for our own. We specialize in young dogs. We feel getting a pup started early and correctly is the surest way to develop an outstanding hunting partner as well as an enjoyable member of your family. Our training "formula" is simple...

• We cater to your wishes - Our first question to you will always be, "What do you hope to get out of training?" We then develop a program to reach the goal you've set for your dog, whether it be a National Hunting Champion, or simply a more obedient companion.
• We stay in contact with you throughout your dogs' training period, giving you updates and progress reports.
• Finally - we work directly with you, teaching the skills you'll need to continue working with your dog long after he or she leaves Westview Kennels. We firmly believe the training your dog gets is only as good as the maintenance program they receive at home. Training your dog is a lifelong commitment. The better the foundation (training at Westview Kennels) and maintenance at home, the more enjoyable your journey through life together will be.
