At Westview Kennels, we treat your puppy exactly the same way we treat ours — with firmness and a lot of affection. Getting a dog started early and correctly is the surest way to have an obedient canine family member who is full of fun. An early start lays down the ground work for the learning process a dog will use the rest of its life.

We start pups as early as eight weeks. What can be taught at such an early age? Many things! At this age your dog's brain is like a sponge! He or she is literally vacuuming up knowledge - good and bad!

Pups of this age are well able to understand. They know when they've pleased you and when they haven't! They quickly learn what "fun" is, and we capitalize on that. We turn training at such a young age into a game... the puppy learns without even knowing it. Before long they begin to understand how they "fit" into this big world.

Our pups are natural retrievers —- you can see the little fellow in the slide show to the left — he's only nine weeks old! Because they're happy, and because training is fun, they are always ready for school!
